The islands of the Philippines is truly a paradise. With lots of beautiful people, breath taking sceneries, amazing food and of course pristine beaches.
Recently, the Philippine government has decided to shut down Boracay, one of the most beautiful island in the world, to give way for it's rehabilitation plans. Leaving most of the tourists and locals wondering where to go. Worry no more guys because aside from Boracay, there are still a lot of amazing beaches in the country. One of them is Tondol Beach.
Tondol Beach is located at western tip of the province of Pangasinan in the town called Anda. ( I will be including a travel guide at the end this blog). Dubbed as the Boracay of the North, Tondol beach is surely a place that you should visit. There are a lot of resorts around offering comfortable accommodation at a reasonable price. We stayed at 828 Gem Resort. The tariff starts at P2500 per night for a standard airconditioned room.
You can buy your groceries and other stuffs at their public market which is a 30 minute drive from the beach and if your commuting just pay the tricycle driver P130-150. You can cook your own food, you can also make "paluto" to their friendly staff or if you're too lazy, you can also order your food which will cost you P100 per plate (it comes with free mangoes).
Sunrise at Tondol Beach |
The water is just 2 feet deep at most and is perfect for kids and people like me who cannot swim. A sand bar is accessible in the morning and afternoon. Island hoping services are also available at a minimum cost of P150 per head.
The water is crystal clear |
Aside from its clear waters and white sand, what makes this beach so special is that you'll feel like it's a private resort. Only a few people are present and it's not as busy as Boracay. The people are friendly and the air is clean. This is a perfect getaway for people who wants to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city.
