Studies show that the thing most people on their late ages regret is not doing the things that they like when they were still young. That includes travelling. Here are the reasons why you should start exploring the world at an early age.
1. You have Financial Freedom.
You don't need to be rich to travel you just need to afford it. Customizing your own itineraries according to your financial capability is the best way to explore the world without breaking the bank. If you want some advice on how to make your own itinerary you can send me a message ;)
Odds are, you don’t have to worry about paying the rent, or hefty child expenses to budget for; although you may not be making lots of money, you likely don’t need to spend much either. You just need to save up to 20% of your paycheck and that's enough.
2. You have all the time
This is the stage of your life where you can be selfish and you don’t have to answer to anyone but yourself. Most of the elders regret not doing things that they like when they were still young. You don't want to be like them in the future, do you?
3. You will learn how to make friends with anyone.
Staying in hostels and exploring unfamiliar places for the first time will help you earn new friends. You can widen your circle of friends and who knows, they might offer you an accommodation the next time you pay a visit. You don't need to worry about hotel costs anymore!
4. Experience
You will see beautiful places and experience different things that will surely make your jaw drop. You will learn distinct social rules that can sometimes be different from what you know. Isn't it nice to have a basket full of stories that you can tell to your future kids and grand kids. That's priceless!
5. Stress reliever
We are young and we will surely have a lot of things to think about like, looking for my first job, what will I do next after graduation or ,if you're still a student, how will I spend my vacation after a passing a nearly impossible exam. Give yourself a break man. Go somewhere where no one knows you and can help you forget about your worries even just for a day or two. Then you'll come back refreshed and ready to beat another set of challenges.
6. It makes your résumé look good!
When you finally decide to settle down and look for a job, to future employers foreign travel will make you look “adventurous” and “independent” and a whole slew of other positive qualities.
7. You can do it cheaper
While we are still young, we have tons of energy and this will help us navigate through unfamiliar places easier and cheaper because you can just walk compared to elder travels who might be experiencing joint problems or easily fatigued. As a youngster you won't mind staying in a hostel and you would rather have meals on cheap shopping districts than on expensive restaurants. You can also do backpacking, hitching a ride and hiking which older people sometimes can't do.
8. Your budgeting skills will be better
Since we are still young and we don't have a lot of money yet, you will be forced to learn how to budget while you travel which is an essential skill that you need to have once you are earning more.
9. You will learn life experiences that you can't get in the University
You will realize how big the world is and there are a lot of things that you can learn first hand. Living with other people and learning their culture is a gem that you can get while travelling and you can't earn that inside your classroom.
10. If you don't, you will regret it later
There will be a point in your life wherein you have all that you need, the money and the time but not the energy. As a result you will regret that you did not do the things you wanted to do when you were still young and full of energy.
I'm not telling you that you set aside the most important things in your life and hitch an airplane ride somewhere else but what I want to imply is that you should learn how to value your time and make enrich yourself with experiences while you still can.
